Bobby Lowe hit four home runs in one game for the Boston Braves.
May 30, 1894
The Braves (then Beaneaters) beat Cincinnati 20-11 at the Congress Street Grounds in the game, as Lowe becomes the first player in major league baseball history to hit four home runs in one game. The Baltimore Sun explains the feat by writing, “The left field fence in Boston is so short that any long fly to left field sails over it.”
